I spent twenty years researching it as an organizational scientist. I lived inside that pattern for fifteen years before I could name it.

High achiever. Youngest department head in my institute. Only woman at the table. I mistook the relief of being praised for the experience of being respected — until my body forced me to stop.

A brain injury shut my nervous system down entirely. I couldn’t walk out my own front door. The medical system had nothing left to offer me. I became my own experiment.

For six years, I tried to think my way back. Nothing held. Then I found somatic and embodiment work — and in six months, more shifted than in all those years combined. Not just regulation. Understanding. I could finally see what had been driving my reactivity, my people-pleasing, my performing — it wasn’t ambition. It was survival. And I had called it strength my entire career.

That understanding became the Embodied Authority methodology. It’s informed by two decades of research, a PhD in Organizational Sciences, and a nervous system I had to rebuild myself.

I work with a small number of senior women leaders each quarter. Women who are still leading well on the outside — but whose body is keeping a tab they can feel.

This work isn’t for everyone. It’s for women who are done performing resilience and ready to lead from ground.
